Field Service / Support Technician (CBRN)

Location: Fort Hood, Texas, United States

Job Summary

Field Service/Support Technician (FSST) at Teledyne FLIR Integrated Detection Systems is responsible for providing technical support, maintenance, and troubleshooting for mobile CBRN detection systems in field environments. In this role, you will respond to service requests, uninstall and install system components, perform routine maintenance, and provide operator training on mobile detection systems. The primary work location is Fort Hood, Texas.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

The FSST will inspect, evaluate, diagnose, maintain, repair, and upgrade advanced detection and surveillance systems, including uninstallation and installation of company products. Responsibilities include electrical, mechanical, software, and hardware maintenance and repair, performing system and subsystem testing to identify potential deployment issues, and providing engineers with necessary information for issue resolution.

Travel up to 60 days for mandatory training, including manufacturer training, conveyance operator training, and system assembly training, and completion of DoD training requirements before gaining access to DoD facilities. After training, the FSST will return to the permanent duty location to support a long-term project. Scope of work: 60% CBRN, 20% electrical, 10% mechanical, 5% software, 5% hardware.

This position is slated to start in December 2025.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in CBRN detection and related technologies (MOS qualification as a 74D is a plus).
• U.S. Citizen with ability to obtain a security clearance.
• Knowledge of DoD processes, procedures, and regulations.
• Troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
• On‑site technical support and maintenance for CBRN mobile detection systems.
• Resolution of technical issues related to CBRN equipment.
• Routine inspections and preventive maintenance on CBRN systems.
• Training and assisting end‑users in proper operation and maintenance of CBRN equipment.
• Compliance with DoD processes and regulations.
• Documentation and reporting of service activities, including maintenance and repair logs.
• Collaboration with other team members and departments for seamless support operations.

• Strength to lift heavy parts (55 lbs.) and work in tight compartments.
