Job summary

Framatome North America is seeking a field service technician to install, troubleshoot, assemble and repair tooling and equipment at customer sites, including components related to nuclear reactors. Responsibilities

  • Installs, troubleshoots, assembles and disassembles, repairs and maintains tooling and equipment at customer sites; may involve nuclear reactor components
  • Performs routine field tasks, operates specialized equipment, records data on performance
  • Develops procedures, problem reports and field schedules, maintains maintenance logs
  • May assist with development of procedures and data; may contribute to training materials
  • Directs technicians including on-the-job training, briefs, task definitions and performance management
  • Ensures safety and health compliance and follows all rules and regulations
  • Adapts to flexible hours and travel to various remote job sites
  • Complies with background checks, psychological eval and drug screening for access

What You’ll Do Day‑To‑Day
  • Installs, troubleshoots, assembles and disassembles, repairs and maintains tooling and equipment at customer sites (may include equipment associated with refueling and inspecting and maintaining nuclear reactors and components).
  • Conducts a variety of routine field tasks including, but not limited to operating specialized equipment, taking measurements, compiling data on task and outage performance, and performing without error in high stress environments.
  • Develops procedures, problem reports and field schedules and maintains maintenance logs and certification documents.
  • May assist with the development procedures and other related data.
  • May provide input to training materials and conduct training.
  • May be responsible for directing technicians which includes on the job training, conducting pre‑job briefs, defining task requirements, performance management and coaching, documenting performance, managing conflicts between coworkers, and ensuring safety and compliance of individuals and plant equipment.
  • Complies with all applicable safety and health rules including personal dose compliance.
  • Works flexible hours and shifts, as required, to ensure timely service.
  • Requires travel to a variety of remote job sites.
  • Requires unescorted nuclear access (includes background check, psychological exam, and drug screen).

What You’ll Bring
  • High School diploma or equivalent education
  • Minimum of 5 years of related experience.
  • Expert knowledge in a particular field of commonly used equipment, practices and concepts.
  • Knowledge of company and industry safety and health policies and programs as required for specific roles.
  • Excellent communication skills to comprehend, follow direction, policies, procedures and guidelines with ability to work effectively with all levels of staff and management, vendors and customers.
  • Requires specific technical training and certification.
Total Rewards Package
  • Salary: $38.80-$50.80 per hour, and may also include annual incentives and performance bonuses. The base salary range is a guideline. Individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies and work location.
