Job summary

STERIS is seeking a Field Service Technician to perform onsite repair and inspection of surgical instruments at local hospitals. You will work closely with another technician, travel to customer sites, and receive extensive hands-on training.

No prior instrument repair experience is required—we will train you. You should be able to pass a DOT medical exam, maintain a valid driver’s license, and be at least 21. This role offers career progression and competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 1 year of relevant work experience.
• Must be able to meet flexible schedules with early/late hours and occasional overnight travel.
• Must pass DOT medical/physical exam and comply with all DOT regulations.
• Must have a valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record (CDL not required).
• Must be at least 21 years old for FMCSA interstate driving.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic to intermediate inspection and repairs on surgical instrumentation using grinding wheels, buffing wheels, various hand and power tools, soldering, etc.
• Demonstrate strong manual dexterity and attention to detail.
• Learn and apply repair techniques as needed to support customer sites.
