Job summary

Thompson Machinery, a Caterpillar equipment dealer serving the Tennessee region, is seeking a Supervisor - Service Operations to lead skilled service mechanics and support staff at the designated location. You will assign work, direct staff, and ensure safe, efficient repairs while coordinating with customers and Product Support leadership on service status.

The role requires a high school diploma (technical education preferred), 5+ years of hands-on equipment diagnostics on Caterpillar

Qualifications

• High school diploma required, college and/or technical education preferred.
• Five or more years of hands-on equipment diagnostics and advanced troubleshooting on Caterpillar construction equipment.
• Able to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends and on-call hours as required.
• Demonstrated professionalism, integrity, adaptability and strong customer service focus.
• Must be able to travel less than 15% for meetings and training.

Responsibilities

• Assigns work within company facilities and at remote field locations, aiding technicians in prioritizing and locating field service customers.
• Coordinates contact with technicians to support parts availability and parts orders, timely completion of work orders, and development of work schedules.
• Interacts with customers and Product Support leadership regarding service status.
• Conduct annual performance reviews for assigned operational unit.
• Investigate and document events of work-related injury and/or property damages.
• Maintain effective work, vacation and training schedules for assigned staff.
• Submit accurate time records related to work performed and hours worked.
• Respond to customer inquiries related to service.
