Job summary

Herc Rentals is seeking a Field Service Mechanic A in Clinton, IA to lead technical service on our fleet at customer job sites. You will perform preventative maintenance, diagnose and repair heavy equipment, and communicate effectively with jobsite foremen to ensure equipment runs safely and efficiently.

You will work independently, on-call as needed, and build strong customer relationships while adhering to safety protocols and company procedures.

Qualifications

• Highschool diploma or equivalent is required.
• Owner/access to a selection of hand and power tools to complete repairs.
• Valid driver’s license is required.
• Ability to be on call to support operations.
• Ability to operate and test equipment such as boom lifts, forklifts, compressors, generators, hydraulics, pumps.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain preventative maintenance on Herc fleet at customer job sites.
• Oversee oil changes, lubrication, tire and battery work.
• Diagnose and repair heavy equipment to ensure proper operation.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot fuel, electrical, hydraulic, and propane systems.
• Provide clear service reports and logs.
• Educate customers on proper use of equipment to avoid breakdowns.
