Job summary

JST Manufacturing is seeking an experienced field service/tech engineer to troubleshoot and resolve complex semiconductor wet processing equipment issues in Houston. You will supervise startup and qualification of highly automated wet bench systems valued from half a million to several millions of dollars, and provide expert customer support.

Associate Science degree or Bachelor's degree as listed in minimum requirements.
Equivalent combination of technical education and field experience in semiconductor equipment is acceptable.

Responsibilities

Analyze complex system failures using advanced diagnostic techniques and engineering principles.
Interpret P&IDs, electrical schematics, and engineering drawings to diagnose non-routine problems.
Lead startup and qualification of complex automated wet bench systems worth 500K−5M+.
Program and troubleshoot PLC systems using ladder logic and advanced control algorithms.
Validate system performance against SEMI standards and customer specifications.
Document service activities, schematic changes, and blueprint modifications.

Education

Location: Houston, Texas

Job Summary

Apply advanced technical knowledge to troubleshoot, analyze, and resolve complex semiconductor wet processing equipment issues. Performs system integration, startup, commissioning, and qualification of sophisticated automated wet bench systems. Provides expert technical consultation to customers and exercises independent judgment in developing solutions to non-routine technical challenges.

What You'll do

Analyze complex system failures using advanced diagnostic techniques and engineering principles
Interpret technical specifications, P&IDs, electrical schematics, and engineering drawings to diagnose non-routine problems
Apply engineering knowledge to develop innovative solutions for equipment modifications and process improvements
Lead startup and qualification of complex automated wet bench systems worth 500K−5M+
Program and troubleshoot PLC systems using ladder logic and advanced control algorithms
Validate system performance against SEMI standards and customer specifications
Serve as primary technical consultant to customers on equipment operation and optimization
Provide expert recommendations on equipment upgrades, retrofits, and process improvements
Create technical reports analyzing equipment performance and recommending design improvements
Collaborate with engineering teams to improve product design based on field insights
Perform point-to-point wiring and soldering according to engineering specifications
Assemble and bundle electrical wiring in organized, accessible manner with proper labeling
Install and assemble valves, fittings, and plumbing components to achieve leak-tight connections
Weld various plastic materials including PVC-C, PVDF, and Halar using specialized techniques
Identify and work with electrical components including relays, controllers, switches, motors, pumps, drives
Operate power tools safely including drill motors, soldering equipment, multi-meters, crimpers, stud weld guns
Maintain clear communication channels between customers and factory personnel
Document all service activities, schematic changes, and blueprint modifications

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

Associate Science degree in Engineering, Technology, Electronics, Semiconductor Manufacturing, or related technical field; OR
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical), Mathematics, Chemistry, or related scientific field; OR
Equivalent combination of specialized technical education and extensive field experience in semiconductor equipment, automation systems, or precision manufacturing (minimum 5 years)

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering or related scientific discipline
Experience with semiconductor processing equipment, PLCs, or automated systems
Professional certifications or specialized training in relevant technical areas
