Qualifications

  • 3+ years experience in Field Service Engineering.
  • Electrical power experience including low to medium voltage switchgear for critical facilities.
  • Experience with automatic transfer switch testing.
  • Ability to read schematics and blueprints for power control and automation.
  • Familiarity with applicable codes and industry standards.
  • Strong client interaction skills and ability to complete projects on time and within budget.
  • Self-directed with strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Valid Driver's license in good standing.
  • Authorized to work in the US without sponsorship now or in the future.

Responsibilities

  • Support automatic transfer switch startups and field service activities.
  • Provide warranty support, remedial repairs and preventive maintenance contracts.

At Russelectric, a Siemens business, we are dedicated to designing and building custom power control systems and equipment that meet the stringent performance and reliability requirements of critical facilities such as Data Centers, Telecommunications, and healthcare. Founded in 1955 by Raymond G. Russell, Russelectric has grown into one of the world's most respected manufacturers of automatic transfer switches and power control systems.

We are looking for Field Service Engineer to support critical power facilities. There are 3 positions and they will each be based out of the Cleveland, Columbus and Cincinnati Ohio area.

This position requires a qualified, hands-on, service-oriented technician to be involved with automatic transfer switch startups, modifications, warranty and emergency calls. Applicant should show desire to learn and advance to the Field Service Engineer level.

You will make an impact with the following skills and experience:
  • Applicant must carry a cell phone and be on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
  • Focus on work related to automatic transfer switches
  • Provide technical support of field startups (standard and non-standard systems), warranty efforts, remedial repairs, and preventative maintenance contracts
  • Supervising and ensuring compliance with all safety policies, procedures, guidelines and laws
  • Conduct client communication in a highly customer service-oriented manner and potentially expand the scope of project work as well as negotiate any extra charges associated with work performed
  • All work and decisions shall be conducted in strict compliance of all regulatory laws
  • Travel requirements: Up to 80% travel
You’ll win us over by having the following qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma / GED
  • 3+ years experience with the following:
    • Field Service Engineering
    • Electrical power including low voltage through medium voltage switchgear in support of critical power facilities (IE data centers, airports, etc…)
    • Experience with most types of automatic transfer switch testing
    • Reading schematics and blueprints for power control, automation and customer technical support
    • Familiarity with all applicable codes and industry standards
    • Proficient in taking care of client interactions and completing projects on time and within budget guidelines
    • Strong project management skills with excellent decision making, organization and management capabilities
    • Must be self-directed and very committed to customer satisfaction
  • Individuals must possess a valid Driver's license in good standing
  • Must be authorized to work in the US for any employer without sponsorship now or in the future
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of field service within the power distribution/ protection industry
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering
  • Excellent customer service, time management and follow-up skills
  • Power distribution, DC/AC, Voltage Circuit Theory and practical troubleshooting skills

  • The pay range for this position is $57,120 - $97,920 plus travel and overtime. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications and premium geographic location. The position can be filled at a higher or lower level.
