Job summary

SimTech, Inc. seeks a Mid-Level Field Service Engineer to deploy to customer and field sites in Huntsville, AL, install, operate, maintain, and sustain complex military equipment, and report performance results to engineering.

The role requires 5+ years in field engineering on military systems, strong troubleshooting across electrical, mechanical, software, and network domains, and ability to travel ~50% with irregular hours. A Secret clearance is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical discipline.
• 5+ years of field engineering, integration, or sustainment on complex military equipment.
• Experience operating, calibrating, and troubleshooting EO/IR and radar sensor systems.
• Strong systems-level troubleshooting across electrical, mechanical, software, and network domains.
• Proficiency with networking fundamentals (IP, cabling, switching, routing).
• Experience analyzing large test data sets with Python or similar tools.
• Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and maintenance procedures.
• Willingness to travel ~50% and work irregular hours.
• Clearance: U.S. Citizenship with active Secret clearance preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deploy to customer/sites to install, operate, maintain, and sustain military equipment.
• Coordinate reach-back with home-station engineering for complex issues.
• Lead root-cause investigations and drive corrective actions.
• Plan field modifications, upgrades, and engineering changes under config control.
• Execute site acceptance tests and document results.
• Verify EO/IR and radar sensor performance and calibration in the field.
• Load software/firmware and verify network connectivity in the field.
• Collect performance data and report anomalies to engineering.
• Provide technical direction to field reps and act as customer-facing contact.
