Pace Analytical in Columbus, OH is seeking an Instrumentation Technician to maintain, diagnose, repair and qualify HPLC, UPLC, GC and IC systems, providing technical guidance to customers and staff.
Qualified candidates have a Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biochemistry, electronics, or related field and at least 3 years of analytical instrument experience; travel up to 15% is required. This is a full-time position with a comprehensive benefits program.

Responsible for executing and overseeing the maintenance, repair, and qualification testing of analytical instrumentation (HPLC, UPLC, GC and/or IC); provide feedback and guidance regarding instrumentation using professional and technical knowledge of related instrumentation and software.
Compensation: $60,000.00 - 90,000.00 per year
The salary range for this position reflects a variety of factors. Compensation will be determined based on the candidate’s geographic location, relevant experience, education, skills, and alignment with internal equity. Market conditions, budgetary considerations, and organizational compensation guidelines may also influence the final offer.

Overnight travel Up to 15% of the time
Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biochemistry, electronics, or a closely related field and at least 3 years analytical instrument experience OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Required Knowledge and Skills Required Knowledge: Knowledge of laboratory and analytical instrumentation, HPLC, UPLC, GC and/or IC systems. Knowledge of metrology standards. Principles, practices, and techniques to diagnose, troubleshoot, and solve problems on HPLC, UPLC, GC and/or IC systems. Experience with Agilent/Waters LC and UPLC systems and/or Thermo IC instruments, preferred Knowledge in testing tools, instruments and calibration. Methods to resolve area problems, questions, and concerns. Comprehensive understanding of applicable area laws, codes, and regulations. Computer applications and systems related to the work. Methods to communicate with staff, coworkers, and customers to ensure safe, effective and appropriate operations. Correct business English, including spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
Required Skills: Performing instrumentation diagnostics and troubleshooting. Administering instrument, mechanical, electrical, and software-based functions. Operating in both a team and individual contributor environment Interpreting, applying and explaining applicable laws, codes, and regulations. Preparing functionals reports, correspondence, and other written materials. Using initiative and independent judgment within established department guidelines. Using tact, discretion, and prudence in working with those contacted in the course of the work. Contributing effectively to the accomplishment of team or work unit goals, objectives, and activities. Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with a variety of individuals contacted in the work.
