Job summary

Thermo Fisher Scientific is seeking a Field Service Engineer I to provide on-site and remote technical support for our chemical analysis instrumentation within an assigned territory. You will install, calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot equipment, while building strong relationships with customers and internal teams.

Travel to customer sites is required; you may work across Midwest, Northeast, and Southeast regions, including Raleigh, NC.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Engineering, Physics, Electronics, Instrumentation, or related field.
  • Experience troubleshooting electrical, electronic, mechanical, optical, computer, or software systems is preferred.
  • Experience with analytical, mechanical, or robotic instrumentation is beneficial.
  • Previous experience in field service or related customer-facing technical positions is beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • On-site installation and commissioning of Thermo Scientific instrumentation and follow testing procedures.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and calibration to maintain performance.
  • Troubleshoot and repair instrument issues across mechanical, electrical, optical, electronic, computer, and software domains.
  • Diagnose performance problems and identify corrective actions.
  • Complete field service reports and documentation accurately and timely.
  • Provide basic customer training on instrument operation and maintenance.
