Job summary

Yokogawa Electric Corporation in Sugar Land, TX seeks an automation engineer to execute control system tasks with minimal supervision and collaborate with project leads and regional managers. You will support installation, commissioning, field service, and troubleshooting of Yokogawa systems, and contribute to multi-site projects.

The role requires a B.S. in engineering or related field, plus hands-on PLC/DCS experience and networking know‑how.

Qualifications

B.S. degree in engineering, physics, math, computer science or equivalent experience.
1 year experience in process control systems, or equivalent experience.
1 year working experience in PLC, DCS, computer networking.

Responsibilities

Execute automation and control system engineering tasks independently with minimal supervision, coordinating with project lead and regional service manager.
Support system installation, configuration, commissioning, field service, and troubleshooting for Yokogawa control systems and related automation products.
Configure, implement, and test automation solutions including I/O, control logic, interlocks, sequences, and operator interface graphics.
Support hardware installation, instrumentation wiring, loop checks, and troubleshooting of field and system-level issues.
Troubleshoot complex control system, network, and system integration issues involving Yokogawa platforms, PLCs, computer systems, and industrial networks.
Manage assigned project tasks and deliverables, contributing to multiple project sizes and complexities.
Ensure accuracy and quality of drawings, databases, configuration files, and documentation; adhere to quality standards.
Perform site visits to support lifecycle agreements and customer engagements, especially in the East Service Region.
