Actalent is seeking a Field Service Engineer to support field commissioning of building automation systems at data centers in LaPorte, IN and Elkhart, IN, with initial 3-5 months travel and then on-site work in Indiana. The role uses iPad diagnostics and involves extensive hands-on fault finding, installation, and system optimization.

The position is contract-to-hire, onsite in Muncie, IN, with a pay range of $30–$55 per hour and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree, associate degree, or technical/business school certificate in HVAC controls.
• 0-2 years of experience in building automation, HVAC controls, or related field.
• Ability to travel to client sites for training.
• Proficiency in using an electrical multimeter.
• Understanding of HVAC systems, including RTUs, air handlers, and chillers.]
• Experience with building automation software such as WebCTRL is a plus.

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Field Service Engineer to join our team and play a critical role in the field commissioning of building automation systems at data centers in LaPorte, IN and Elkhart, IN. This role involves working with various systems such as chiller plant controls, HVAC, energy monitoring, and more, using an iPad for diagnostics and system checks.

Responsibilities

• Initiate, install, troubleshoot, and optimize customer systems utilizing advanced Direct Digital Control technology.
• Serve as the local contact for technical issues and lead field operations.
• Provide effective solutions for complex system issues.
• Deliver turnkey project solutions on small to medium projects.
• Ensure proper operation of systems, including controls, sensors, and software.
• Load software and configure trends, alarms, and reports.
• Implement time management strategies to enhance customer satisfaction.
• Communicate and document project status and details for the customer.
• Provide site-specific training to owners and operators on the complete system.

Essential Skills

• Bachelor's degree, associate degree, or technical/business school certificate in HVAC controls.
• 0 - 2 years of experience in building automation, HVAC controls, or a related field.
• Ability to travel to client sites for training.

Work Environment

The position is based at data centers in LaPorte, IN and Elkhart, IN. Initial training involves travel to other customer sites for 3-5 months, followed by on-site work in Indiana. Standard hours during training are 5 days a week, which may increase to 6-7 days once the centers are operational. Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $55.00/hr.
