Job description

About Us

Yokohama Off-Highway Tires (YOHT) is a global leader in the off-highway tire (OHT) industry, bringing together the Alliance, Galaxy, and Primex brands under one powerful umbrella. We are a fast-growing, ambitious organization focused on innovation, quality, and customer satisfaction. Our team is made up of highly skilled professionals committed to driving the future of OHT solutions.

About The Role

The Field Service Engineer plays a critical role in ensuring that YOHTA's off‑highway tire products perform to the highest standards in real‑world applications. This position blends application engineering expertise with hands‑on field evaluation, technical reporting, and cross‑functional collaboration with PM, design, quality, and manufacturing teams. At least 50% of working time is spent in the field – visiting customer sites, evaluating product performance, and resolving technical issues. The remaining time is dedicated to data analysis, reporting, training/inspection support, and internal technical coordination. All Field Service Engineers are expected to operate independently, with strategic guidance from senior management.

What You’ll Do
Field Evaluation & Technical Support
  • Plan, conduct, and report on field investigations of YOHTA tire products across North American customer and dealer locations.
  • Provide on‑site technical support to field sales staff, OE and aftermarket distributors, and end customers.
  • Evaluate tire use and maintenance conditions to make accurate product recommendations that optimize performance and longevity.
  • Proactively engage with customers to identify perceived or actual product issues and drive timely resolution.
Product Performance, warranty & Quality
  • Analyze field claim and test data to assess tire performance and communicate findings clearly to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Identify opportunities for product improvement and advocate effectively for design or manufacturing changes.
  • Provide time‑to‑time reports on warranty analysis based on product inspections and analysis to the central Product team.
  • Collaborate closely with tire design engineers, quality management teams, and overseas manufacturing personnel to ensure products meet market expectations and specifically warranty concerns if any.
  • Plan, conduct, and report on competitive benchmark testing in collaboration with regional sales and product management teams.
Customer Engagement & Training
  • Support the organization, planning, and delivery of technical training sessions for sales teams and customers.
  • Provide on‑site warranty support and technical guidance for distributor and customer claims.
  • Assist in conducting customer satisfaction surveys and translating feedback into actionable product insights.
What You Need To Succeed
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with hands‑on experience working with tires, wheels, and heavy equipment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to convey complex technical information to both technical and commercial audiences.
  • Data‑driven, detail‑oriented, and self‑motivated with strong organizational skills.
  • Capable of physically handling heavy tires and wheel assemblies, cutting tires for analysis, and using relevant field tools and equipment.
  • Ability to travel minimum 50% across North America to customer and dealer locations.
Qualifications
  • Associate's or BS in engineering, Agriculture, or a related science field.
  • 3+ years of relevant engineering experience in the off‑highway, commercial vehicle, or tire industry.
  • Background in agricultural, construction, forestry, or industrial equipment applications is strongly preferred.
  • High proficiency in data analysis and technical report writing.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with data analysis tools is an advantage.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
  • This role requires regular field work in outdoor and industrial environments including construction sites, mining operations, agricultural fields, and dealer workshops. The position demands physical capability to handle, lift, and manipulate heavy tires and tire‑wheel assemblies, and to use cutting and analytical tools in the field. Candidates must be comfortable working independently in varied and sometimes demanding field conditions across North America.
Why Join Us?
  • Be part of a fast‑growing, globally recognized company in the off‑highway tire industry.
  • Work with a passionate, innovative team that values technical expertise and customer relationships.
  • Competitive salary, benefits, and opportunities for professional growth.
Compensation & Benefits

  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Paid time off (PTO) and company‑paid holidays
  • Short‑term and long‑term disability coverage
