Opifex-Synergy in Texas is seeking a Field Service Coordinator to lead a team of field technicians, deliver excellent customer service, and drive maintenance and repair of construction equipment.

You will hire, train, and develop technicians, dispatch to sites, manage work orders, monitor safety, and build strong relationships with customers while collaborating with the operations team.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2-year technical certificate or college degree in a related field optional with relevant experience.
  • 5 years of experience in service management for heavy equipment or similar roles.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and direct a team of Field Technicians, providing leadership and support to optimize performance.
  • Dispatch field technicians to job sites to meet service demands.

The Field Service Coordinator leads their team of field technicians providing excellent customer service, maintenance, and repair to our construction equipment. This position has a direct hand in hiring, developing, and training their team of technicians.

Essential Functions
  • Oversee and direct a team of Field Technicians, providing leadership and support to optimize their performance and development.
  • Efficiently dispatch field technicians to various job sites, ensuring that resources are allocated effectively to meet service demands.
  • Assist the Director of Operations in managing service-related tasks, contributing to the overall efficiency and success of the operations team.
  • Supervise the opening and closing of work orders to ensure accurate tracking and control of each field job, facilitating seamless operations.
  • Monitor the training progress of service technicians, scheduling both on-site and off-site training sessions as needed to enhance their skills and compliance with industry standards.
  • Ensure that all technicians adhere to established safety policies and procedures. Implement disciplinary actions as necessary, in accordance with Opifex policies, to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Provide ongoing knowledge and guidance to field technicians, equipping them with the information needed to perform their duties effectively and resolve customer issues promptly.
  • Foster strong customer relationships by ensuring the delivery of high-quality service, addressing concerns proactively, and maintaining open lines of communication.
  • Work collaboratively with your manager to meet the service department's performance metrics, striving for continuous improvement in service delivery.
  • Complete all necessary administrative duties, including logging service calls, creating purchase orders (POs), and ordering parts, to ensure efficient operations and record-keeping.

Required Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma
  • 2-year certificate from a technical school, 5 years of experience in service management for heavy equipment, or a college degree in a related field.
  • PC proficiency required, particularly in MS Office applications
  • Extensive Equipment (OEM product) and maintenance knowledge
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to build relationships and motivate people

Military service will be considered in lieu of education/certification experience as applicable.

Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Primarily based in a front desk or customer service office setting.
  • Climate-controlled workspace equipped with standard office tools (computers, phones, CRM systems).
  • Frequent interaction with customers, vendors, and internal staff both in person and through phone/email.
  • Regular visits to the adjacent repair shop and outdoor equipment yard to coordinate with technicians or support customer needs.
  • Occasional exposure to moderate noise, dust, grease, and heavy machinery during shop or yard visits.
  • Outdoor yard visits may involve exposure to seasonal weather conditions such as heat, cold, rain, or wind.
  • Uneven terrain and moving equipment in shop/yard areas require proper footwear and attention to safety.
  • Must be comfortable transitioning between a professional office setting and a more physically active, industrial environment.
  • Requires strong communication, multitasking, and coordination skills across departments.
  • Adaptability and situational awareness are key in navigating between administrative and operational responsibilities.
Travel Required
  • Yes – 40% - 60% of the time.
Physical Demands
  • Requires a moderate level of physical activity and flexibility to support both office and operational tasks.
  • Occasional bending, squatting, crouching, reaching, and lifting or carrying of items weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Tasks such as moving materials, tagging equipment, retrieving items from storage, or assisting in the yard/shop may require physical effort.
  • Primarily based in an office environment, but includes regular movement between indoor and outdoor areas.
  • Walking through the repair shop and equipment yard may involve uneven surfaces, exposure to varying weather conditions, and proximity to active machinery.
  • May require extended periods of standing, walking, or sitting at a desk, depending on daily assignments.
  • Manual dexterity and visual acuity necessary for using computers, phones, printers, and handling paperwork.
  • Must maintain situational awareness in dynamic, multi-use work zones with vehicular and equipment traffic.
