Job summary

DHL Express is seeking a Customer Service / Operations Support associate in Anchorage, Alaska. This on-site role provides frontline customer service, billing resolution, shipment tracking, and coordination with Sales/Service to ensure smooth operations within the Service Center.

The ideal candidate has a High School Diploma, prior customer service experience, strong communication skills, and proficiency with Microsoft Office.

• Experience in customer service or related field
• Strong communication skills (oral and written)
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word)
• Must pass FAA, TSA, and CBP background checks for SIDA badge

Responsibilities

• Provides customer service, sales and operational support for the Service Center
• Answers phone and greets visitors
• Resolves billing problems related to the Service Center
• Research shipment tracking requests and provide feedback; resolve misplaced shipments
• Communicates with Sales/Service to resolve customer problems
• Assists with operational procedures including sorting, loading/unloading, shipment processing and documentation
• Dispatches pickup and delivery information and schedules
• May process import/export documentation and assist in customs clearance in some markets

Key Responsibilities:

• Provides customer service, sales and operational support for the Service Center
• Answers phone and greets visitors
• Resolves billing problems in relation to the Service Center
• Research shipment tracking requests and provides feedback; attempts to resolve misplaced shipments
• Communicates with Sales/Service to resolve customer problems
• Assists with operational procedures including sorting, loading/unloading activities, shipment processing and documentation, manifesting, bagging, sending shipment status information, and accepting/securing over-the-counter payments
• Dispatches pick-up and delivery information in a timely and efficient manner; arranges daily pick-up schedules
• May process or prepare import/export documentation and assist in the customs clearance process in some markets

Skills & Qualifications:

• High School Degree or Equivalent required
• Previous experience in customer service/support or related field
• Strong Communication Skills (both oral and written)
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Products (Outlook, Excel, Word)
• Must pass FAA, TSA, and CBP background and security checks to acquire a SIDA badge to work

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to lift seventy (70) lbs. occasionally
• Must be able to lift forty (40) lbs. frequently
• Must be able to walk, climb stairs, reach overhead, squat, bend, kneel, stoop and crouch repeatedly
