Job summary

Performance Contracting Group is seeking a Safety Technician for its Austin, TX operations. The role will focus on promoting safe work practices, assisting with the Accident Prevention Plan, and ensuring timely safety documentation on large projects.

The candidate will work closely with the site safety manager, field teams, and multiple trades to drive a culture of injury-free performance. The position requires 2-3 years of construction safety experience, OSHA 30 and OSHA 510 certifications, and

Qualifications

• Must have at least 2-3 years' experience in construction safety.
• OSHA 30 and OSHA 510 certification.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Strong verbal communication skills to convey information to employees, customers, vendors, and other stakeholders.
• Fall Protection & Confined Space Training.
• Local to Austin, TX metro Area.

Responsibilities

• Promote safe work practices and behaviors to instill an injury-free culture among all site and field personnel.
• Assist with the administration of PCI's Accident Prevention Plan, policies, and procedures on jobsites and at the branch through utilization of safety resources such as training and mitigation of unsafe practices.
• Ensure company and client safety reports and documentation are submitted on time and in accordance with client requirements and expectations.
• Collaborate with site safety manager and field to develop and implement safety policies and procedures as necessary; monitor for effectiveness and make recommendations for improvement when necessary.
• Responsible for investigation and evaluation of injuries and illnesses for the project site.
• Convey a professional and positive attitude as the safety representative of PCI.
• Create and maintain positive relationships with all trades, vendors, co-workers and customers to maximize effectiveness and efficiency.

Education

Degree in Occupational or Environmental Health and Safety (preferred)
