Job summary

Rumpke Waste & Recycling, a leading waste and recycling provider in the United States, is seeking a Safety Supervisor to oversee daily safety operations across hauling, landfill, recycling, and transfer facilities within the region. This field-based role emphasizes hands-on leadership, inspections, and ensuring compliance with OSHA and DOT regulations.

The position collaborates with Operations, Maintenance, and site leadership to minimize injuries and incidents.

Qualifications

• Must have knowledge of DOT regulations and OSHA/industrial safety compliance in waste hauling.
• 5+ years in keeping detailed records in a safety environment.
• 5+ years reading/interpreting federal, state and local safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular site visits across regional operations.
• Perform yard audits, landfill inspections, shop walkthroughs, and route observations.
• Identify unsafe behaviors and provide corrective coaching.
• Respond to workplace injuries, vehicle incidents, and near misses.
• Assist investigations, root cause analysis, and documentation with timely reporting.
