Job summary

Clear Path Utility Solutions, LLC. is seeking a Field Safety Specialist in Fresno, CA to perform field safety observations, coaching, and documentation in support of utility vegetation and construction work.

The role requires OSHA Logging Regulations and ANSI Z133 familiarity, plus bilingual English/Spanish communication. You will coach crews, prepare documentation, and collaborate with supervision to promote safe work practices in all weather and terrain.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Technical education in Forestry/Vegetation Management and/or Logging preferred.
  • CPR/First Aid certification required.
  • Valid Driver's License required.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct initial and ongoing field safety observations with documentation.
  • Prepare employees/contractors for observation processes and communication of findings.
  • Document results for supervision using templates and forms.
  • Provide coaching and feedback post-observation.
  • Suggest improvements to at-risk safety activities based on coaching insights.

Field Safety Specialist

Location: Fresno, CA

Company: Clear Path Utility Solutions, LLC.

Pay Range: $29-$46 DOE

CPUS is seeking Safety Specialists with knowledge of OSHA Logging Regulations, ANSI Z133 Standards and PG&E Safe Work Practices. This role is ideal for Utility Foresters with Trainer or Safety program experience. The Safety Specialist must have knowledge in technical discipline for which incumbent is performing safety observations and a good understanding of specific work methods and procedures, including all safety practices.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Performs initial and subsequent safety observations, written or computer- based documentation of VM activities, including new and/or difficult skills and techniques, with general guidance on new assignments. May involve working in extreme weather, day or night conditions, and hiking to complete observations.
  • Prepares employees/contractors for the entire observation process, written and/or computer documentation of field observation, through effective communication and tail boarding. Ensures employees understand the purpose and process.
  • Documents and communicates results to first line supervision, using standardized templates and forms.
  • Provides coaching report and feedback to participants upon completion of the field safety observations.
  • May provide recommendations and input to improve observed at risk safety activities utilizing coaching tools and processes.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Any technical or continued education in related field. (Forestry, Utility Vegetation Management and/or Logging).
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • CPR / First Aid.
Experience:
  • Three (3) years of experience in the arboriculture industry or military experience and (1) year in the arboriculture industry.
  • One (1) year in trainer or safety position.
  • Utility line clearance.
  • Training experience within the arboriculture/utility line clearance industry.
  • Knowledge in technical discipline for which incumbent is performing safety observations.
  • Good understanding of specific work methods and procedures, including all safety practices.
  • Written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills to effectively coach and provide feedback.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel.
  • Knowledge of OSHA Logging Regulations, ANSI Z133 Standards and PG&E Safe Work Practices.
  • Bilingual (English / Spanish).
Preferred Certifications:
  • Certified Treecare Safety Professional (CTSP) or Consulting Utility Forester Safety Professional (CUFSP).
  • OSHA 30.
  • OSHA 30 (with focus in Elec Power).
  • International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) Credentials.
  • Commercial Driver's License.
  • Electric Hazard Awareness Program (EHAP).

The salary range for this position is provided in good faith and is subject to variation based on geographic location, candidate experience, and market conditions. Final compensation will be determined after a comprehensive evaluation of the candidate’s qualifications and alignment with the role.
