Northern Clearing Inc. is seeking a Field Safety Representative to oversee environmental health and safety programs across multiple projects nationwide. The role requires 100% travel, with lodging and meals provided.

You will lead safety initiatives, train staff, and investigate incidents to maintain compliance with our safety standards. Ideal candidates have at least 3 years in construction safety, a degree or certificate in Occupational Health & Safety, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• This role requires at least 3 years of progressively responsible experience in construction safety.
• Degree, diploma, or certificate in Occupational Health & Safety is preferred.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills are essential.
• Comfortable working on a computer and proficient with common office software.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and support to develop and execute an effective safety culture and programs.
• Monitor safety compliance with the Health and Safety Management System.
• Train and evaluate best practices in right‑of‑way land clearing and vegetation management.
• Document and investigate incidents, injuries, and near misses.
• Conduct new employee safety training and tailgate safety meetings.
• Ensure compliance with company and client safety expectations.
• Provide Emergency Response Support and Guidance.

FIELD SAFETY REPRESENTATIVE

Northern Clearing Inc. is the industry leader in right-of-way clearing, access road construction, vegetation management, environmental management, and matting services. We are hiring a Field Safety Representative to oversee the company's Environmental Health and Safety Programs at the project level. Projects are typically located throughout the Midwest, Northeast, and Southeast regions of the United States and can vary in duration from one month to several months, with some select projects being long term of a year of greater. Travel, lodging, and a meals per-diem are paid by the company.

This job will require 100% travel across the U.S.

Primary Focus:

• Provides leadership, direction, and support in the development and execution of an effective safety culture and programs.
• Monitors safety compliance with our established Health and Safety Management System.
• Training and evaluation of best practices in right of way land clearing activity (Cutting, Heavy Equipment Operation, Fleet operation, etc.)
• Training and evaluation of best practices in Vegetation Management activities (Tree Trimming, Heavy Equipment Operation, Fleet operations, etc.)
• Document and investigate incidents, injuries, and near misses.
• Conducts new employee safety training, and tailgate safety meetings.
• Ensure compliance with all company and client safety expectations.
• Provide Emergency Response Support and Guidance.

Desired Skills:

• Demonstrate ability to inspire, motivate and lead personnel in advancing the safety culture through an established Health and Safety Management System.
• 3 years of progressively responsible experience in construction safety.
• Degree, Diploma, or certificate in Occupational Health & Safety.
• Proven interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
• Well versed and comfortable on a computer.
• Proficient in Microsoft word and Excel.
