Schnabel is seeking a Field Safety Manager to safeguard our field personnel across the Mid-West with initial projects in Nashville and Kentucky. The role requires extensive travel to project sites and close collaboration with operations and safety leadership to enforce standards and improve safety outcomes.
You will develop Job Hazard Analyses, lead investigations, conduct safety training, and ensure regulatory compliance (OSHA/MSHA) while promoting a culture of safety on site.
Schnabel is looking for a Field Safety Manager to protect the most valuable part of our business - our people. We are leaders in underground construction and have been in operation since 1959. Safety is a key part of our culture. We want to add another forward thinker who will keep our people safe.
The Field Safety Manager is uniquely positioned within the company to have maximum impact on employee safety and productivity. This is achieved using a dual reporting arrangement. The Field Safety Manager reports directly to the Area Operations Manager on a daily and weekly basis. They collaborate with the operations team to help our employees safely build our work. The Field Safety Manager also reports and is accountable to the Corporate Safety Director. This ensures alignment with company-wide safety standards, processes, and initiatives. The dual reporting nature of this arrangement positions the Field Safety Manager close to the people they are protecting. It also provides them with the support they need to do their job. This is a full-time position and requires extensive travel to project sites throughout the Mid-West, initially starting work on two large projects in Nashville and Kentucky.
Support the company’s safety and risk management objectives by adhering to established procedures, proactively identifying, and addressing potential risks, and contributing to the achievement of safety goals through the use of metrics and continuous improvement efforts.
Don’t hurt yourself, don’t hurt anyone else, and don’t let anyone hurt you; a simple philosophy that has been adopted at Schnabel. We live by this belief to provide a safe and healthy workplace for all our employees and subcontractors.
