Zachry Group in Corpus Christi, TX, seeks a Safety Representative to work with Line Management and Operations to maintain safe worksites and enforce guidelines.

Responsibilities include observing conditions, taking corrective actions, stopping work when needed, reporting hazards, assisting with safety briefs, responding to incidents, performing PPE inspections, and conducting safety investigations. Must have a High School Diploma, 3 years in industrial field safety, and a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Observe the working conditions of the job site to ensure safe work condition exist.
• Take corrective action when unsafe conditions exist; actions include immediate correction, isolating and restricting area access until corrected, stopping work as needed, and reporting conditions to supervisor with recommended action.
• Observe behavior and actions of site workforce for unsafe acts; take immediate action to correct acts before an incident occurs.
• Report all observations of unsafe conditions and acts verbally and written to management.
• Assist site workforce in planning work with safety considerations.
• Assist site supervision with safety briefs or TSA's and in performing/ guiding briefs or TSA's.
• Respond to incidents and accidents, provide emergency aid as needed, and ensure unsafe acts/conditions are corrected to prevent further incidents.
• Assist in issuing and inspecting personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Assist in investigations on safety incidents or accidents.
• Trained to administer first aid to employees with minor injuries.
• Assist in case management of employees injured on the job.
• Physical requirements: stand/walk/bend/squat/lift up to 50 lbs; work at heights; PPE worn.
