Position Overview

Intuitive Safety Solutions (ISS) is seeking multiple Field Safety Consultants to support a major semiconductor manufacturing expansion in Boise, Idaho.

This is an opportunity to contribute to one of the nation's most significant advanced manufacturing construction programs, supporting the development of state-of-the-art semiconductor fabrication facilities, cleanrooms, process utilities, and critical infrastructure.

We are looking for safety-minded construction professionals who enjoy working directly in the field, engaging with craft personnel, identifying hazards, and promoting safe work practices.

This is a hands-on, field-focused safety position—not a desk-based or senior management role. Approximately 80% of the workday will be spent actively walking construction areas, observing work activities, communicating with crews, and helping resolve safety concerns.

Successful candidates will bring approximately three years of construction experience, practical safety knowledge, strong communication skills, and the confidence to interact effectively with craft workers, subcontractors, and project leadership.

Project Overview

This large-scale, multiyear semiconductor construction program involves the development of advanced manufacturing facilities and extensive supporting infrastructure.

Project activities include:

  • Semiconductor fabrication facilities and cleanroom construction
  • Structural steel, concrete, and multilevel building construction
  • Mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems
  • Process utilities and chemical distribution systems
  • Wastewater treatment and water infrastructure
  • Underground utilities, electrical distribution, and telecommunications
  • Equipment installation and advanced manufacturing support systems

Field Safety Consultants will be assigned to specific project buildings or construction trades and work under the direction of onsite Safety Leads.

Key Responsibilities
Field Safety Oversight
  • Conduct daily field observations to identify unsafe conditions, behaviors, and potential hazards.
  • Monitor active construction operations and promote compliance with site safety requirements.
  • Verify proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to established safety procedures.
  • Identify safety concerns, communicate corrective actions, and follow up to verify resolution.
  • Monitor subcontractor activities and support compliance with project-specific safety expectations.
  • Review applicable work permits and verify that required safety controls are in place.
Safety Communication and Engagement
  • Build positive working relationships with craft personnel, subcontractors, supervisors, and project leadership.
  • Communicate safety expectations clearly and professionally in a fast-paced construction environment.
  • Support toolbox talks, safety orientations, and field-level training.
  • Reinforce safe work practices through proactive coaching and direct engagement.
  • Escalate significant hazards and safety concerns to project Safety Leads.
Documentation and Compliance
  • Complete daily safety observations, inspection reports, and field documentation.
  • Assist with hazard assessments, corrective-action tracking, and safety audits.
  • Support incident reporting, investigations, and documentation as directed.
  • Maintain accurate records of field safety activities.
  • Assist project Safety Leads and Managers with ongoing safety initiatives and continuous improvement efforts.
Required Qualifications
  • Approximately three years of construction experience preferred.
  • Practical understanding of construction safety practices, hazards, and controls.
  • Familiarity with OSHA construction safety requirements and PPE standards.
  • Some prior experience performing safety-related responsibilities in a construction environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to confidently engage with craft personnel, subcontractors, and supervisors.
  • Strong observational skills and the ability to recognize and communicate potential hazards.
  • Ability to complete clear, accurate daily documentation.
  • Willingness to work in a large, active, and fast-paced construction environment.
  • Ability to work a day-shift schedule averaging 50–60 hours per week, including rotating Saturdays.

Physical Requirements: Candidates must be capable of walking, standing, and moving throughout active construction areas for approximately eight hours per day, with reasonable accommodations as required by law. Work may involve stairs, uneven surfaces, outdoor conditions, and active industrial construction environments.

Preferred Qualifications
  • OSHA 10-Hour or OSHA 30-Hour Construction training.
  • Previous experience as a Field Safety Technician, Safety Coordinator, Safety Representative, or similar position.
  • Experience supporting large commercial, industrial, semiconductor, data center, or manufacturing construction projects.
  • Familiarity with construction permits, hazard assessments, and incident reporting.
  • Experience delivering toolbox talks or assisting with new‑worker safety orientations.
  • Knowledge of high-risk construction activities, including work at heights, electrical hazards, heavy equipment, lifting operations, and simultaneous trade activities.

Certifications are not required. Candidates with strong construction backgrounds, demonstrated safety awareness, and excellent interpersonal skills are encouraged to apply.

Candidates with less than three years of experience may also be considered based on their qualifications and project needs.

Schedule and Compensation
  • Base Pay: $45.00 per hour
  • Overtime Pay: $67.50 per hour for hours worked over 40 per workweek
  • Shift: Day shift
  • Weekend Work: Rotating Saturdays, generally no more than two consecutive Saturdays
  • Per Diem: $174 per day for eligible traveling consultants
  • Paid Time Off: 120 hours, subject to ISS policy
  • Retention Bonus: $500 per month, subject to eligibility and applicable program terms
  • Assignment Duration: Long-term project, anticipated through December 2028
