Company Overview

Gastronomous [a Canadian-based entity] is a fast-paced, dynamic company focused on revolutionizing the quick-service restaurant (QSR) industry. Our momentum is undeniable: Deployments have increased by over 400% year-over-year, and we're entering a major phase of growth. In 2026, our team is focused on rapidly expanding deployments of our current products across California (200+ units) and launching one to two new products that advance our mission.

We are a no-nonsense team of passionate, execution-driven people. We believe that our ability to deliver, not just dream, sets us apart. Internally and externally, we do what we say we're going to do. Our team members are empowered to act independently, make practical decisions, and move fast. We trust our people — and we build the future, one deployment at a time.

About the Role

Gastronomous is seeking a Field Robotics Specialist who will play a critical role in deploying, supporting, and optimizing our autonomous cooking systems across Los Angeles and Orange County. In this role, you will be responsible but not limited to diagnosing, repairing, and troubleshooting our in-field units while ensuring exceptional performance and reliability for our customers.

As Gastronomous prepares to establish its first physical presence in Los Angeles by Summer 2026, we are entering a major growth phase driven by a large Los Angeles-based customer. Throughout 2026, we will be rapidly expanding deployments across the region.

This position represents a rare ground-floor opportunity. As our first full-time team member in Los Angeles, you will help build the foundation of our field operations in the city—shaping service processes, supporting new deployments, and serving as a key technical partner to both customers and internal teams.

As the region grows, this role offers the opportunity to take on increasing ownership and leadership responsibilities, helping to scale the local service team and define how Gastronomous supports its customers in one of our most important markets.

What You'll do
  • Monitor in-field products and promptly respond to any concerns, identify root causes of problems, run tests to verify causes, and resolve issues (hardware, software, and electrical)
  • Deploy, install, and calibrate Gastronomous' equipment in new stores
  • Perform preventative maintenance on a routine schedule, including inspection, cleaning, and replacement of wear components
  • Provide feedback regarding hardware assembly and repair processes to software/hardware engineering and design teams
  • Be the subject matter expert on technician capabilities: hardware and electrical wiring assembly, troubleshooting, and repair
  • Document all service activities and maintain accurate records of all repairs, replacements, and installations
  • Train customers on the operation and maintenance of our machines
  • Provide technical support to customers over the phone or via remote access tools
  • Respond to emergency service calls and resolve them within guidelines that meet or exceed customer expectations and requirements
  • Consistently and concisely document repairs and service actions
  • Work closely with product management, service, and engineering teams to define spare parts strategies throughout the product life cycle
  • Track, organize, and maintain inventory of parts, tools, and supplies required for installations and maintenance
  • Support pilot deployments and new customer launches to ensure successful product rollouts
  • Assist with product demonstrations and technical walkthroughs for prospective customers when needed
  • Participate in industry events and customer visits to support sales and product awareness initiatives
  • Contribute field insights and performance feedback to help improve product reliability and serviceability
  • Assist with recruiting initiatives such as technician hiring fairs, outreach events, and onboarding support for new team members
  • Contribute to internal documentation, service manuals, and troubleshooting guides based on field experience
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities for Success
  • Strong work ethic!!
  • Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical problems
  • Experience with interpreting functional, electrical, and mechanical diagrams
  • Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies and processes, and adapt to change
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions with attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
  • Ability to innovate, solve complex issues, and present new ideas
  • Experience working in a team-based environment and achieving common goals
Requirements
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule when needed to solve urgent problems.
  • Spanish speaking (preferred).
  • Ability to travel ~20% of the time (throughout California).
  • Must maintain a valid California driver's license.
  • Must have access to a personal vehicle (preferred).
  • Must be able to communicate thoughts and ideas effectively.
  • Must be able to work independently and with a multidisciplinary team.
  • Organized and efficient, able to self-manage projects and present deliverables on time or communicate delays.
  • Detail oriented with regards to machine development
