Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an on-site Field Inspector to join our Transportation Construction team. This role offers hands-on experience inspecting traffic control, environmental controls, and construction methods at project sites across multiple locations.

Candidates should have a High School diploma or equivalent, a valid driver's license, and basic math and Microsoft Office skills. Travel up to 40% is possible; strong communication in English is essential.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license required.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required; frequency depends on duties and project demands.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections of traffic control, environmental controls, layout, construction methods and materials under direct supervision.
• Determine acceptability of day-to-day contractor work; review daily reports and QC procedures.
• Review material testing procedures and results for conformance to contract; measure quantities of materials placed.
• May perform sampling and/or in-place testing of soil, aggregate base, concrete, and asphalt concrete pavement.
