Job summary

Johns Hopkins University is seeking a Field Research Coordinator in the Health, Behavior and Society division. This role administratively coordinates protocol implementation for complex studies and supports the Overdose Data2 Action Harm Reduction Services Evaluation in Maryland.

You will coordinate activities across teams, develop operational plans with PIs, create data collection tools, manage data, and monitor budgets and records.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in related field.
• One year of related experience.
• Additional education may substitute for required experience, and additional related experience may substitute for required education beyond a high school diploma/graduation equivalent, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate all activities of a complex research study or multiple studies to ensure validity of findings.
• Work with the Principal Investigator or senior research staff to develop operational plans to meet research goals.
• Develop tools and procedures for data collection and study processes.
• Collect and organize data per study requirements, e.g., participant interviews, administer questionnaires; conduct background research, laboratory processing, etc.
• Ensure adherence to protocols and procedures.
• Assist with setup of data collection system and enter and organize data.
• Oversee record management for research study.
• Oversee budget expenditures for study operations.
• Assist in coordinating study meetings.
• Participate in study meetings and provide updates on protocol implementation status and make recommendations on operational issues.
• Conduct literature searches to provide background information.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Facilitate multiple forms of data collection, including brief surveys and in-depth interviews.
• Collaboratively develop research plans, study instruments, IRB amendments, and research protocols and operating procedures.
• Collaboratively assist in quantitative and qualitative data analyses.
