Qualifications

  • PhD in Ecology, Evolutionary Biology, or a closely related field, completed by the start date.
  • Evidence of an active research program that engages undergraduate and graduate students.
  • Demonstrated ability to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in ecology, organismal biology, and/or field biology.

Responsibilities

  • Teach courses such as BIO 350 (Ecology), BIO 220 (Animal Diversity), BIO 120 (Field Biology), and related undergraduate and graduate offerings.
  • Contribute to field-based and experiential learning opportunities and support courses serving multiple emphases, including Ecology & Evolution, Wildlife & Wildlands Conservation, and Environmental Science & Sustainability.
  • Establish and maintain an externally visible research program that involves undergraduate and graduate students in meaningful, mentored research experiences.
  • Apply field-based approaches combined with quantitative or analytical methods.
  • Participate in departmental and university service, mentor students, and support the mission of Brigham Young University.
