Job summary

Powerserve Technologies is seeking a Protection & Control Engineer II to support testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and startup activities on high-voltage substations across Florida. This field position requires hands-on work, problem-solving, and leadership of junior staff in a dynamic utility environment.

You will read and interpret schematics, perform relay testing, verify protection settings, and support outages and commissioning efforts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
• 2–3 years of Protection & Control field experience with protective relays and HV substations.
• Ability to read and interpret protection schematics and one-line diagrams.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills; effective communicator and team player.
• Willingness to travel extensively throughout Florida and work overtime as required.

Responsibilities

• Perform protection and control relay testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
• Verify relay settings and protection system performance.
• Read and interpret diagrams and protection drawings.
• Analyze and troubleshoot protection and control system issues.
• Lead and supervise junior engineers or field crews.
• Assist with project planning, documentation, and reporting.
• Maintain safety, quality, and professional standards.
• Serve as a technical resource and mentor to teammates.
