Job summary

Acquisition NexGen in Middletown, RI seeks a Sr. Advanced FPGA Firmware Software Engineer to join the Torpedo Systems Group.

You will be onsite with government customers as needed, supporting installation, troubleshooting and corrective actions across multiple programs. The role requires a BS in Electrical/Computer Engineering (or related field) with 8+ years of experience or a MS with 6+ years, and an active DoD Secret clearance is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or related field with 8+ years experience (or Master’s with 6+ years)
• Active Secret Clearance preferred and ability to obtain DoD clearance
• Experience with FPGA development including design, verification and documentation
• Embedded software development using C and C++

Responsibilities

• Contribute to design, verification and documentation for FPGA developments
• Participates in architecture, system simulation and detailed design approach
• Defines module interfaces and all aspects of device design and simulation
• Evaluates the process flow including high level design, synthesis, place and route, timing and power utilization
• Verifies test results and analyzes performance
• Develops and presents requirements, concepts, designs, decisions and results to internal management, other organizations, teammates and customer
• Participates in improvement of FPGA organizational processes
• Supports generation of technical engineering products using standards, processes, procedures and tools
• Writing in C and Multithreaded programming

Sr. Advanced FPGA Firmware Software Engineer

Middletown, Rhode Island

Program/Project Overview

As a Sr Advanced Onsite Support Firmware/Software Engineer for the Torpedo Systems Group, you will work with engineering teams to develop, deliver, and maintain software and firmware products. Additionally, you will be the government customer onsite and frontline engineering representative as needed and when new products are delivered to help with installation, troubleshooting issues, and assist in corrective actions across several development programs.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field, plus a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience, or Master’s degree plus a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience.

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS

An active Secret Clearance is preferred. Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense Secret security clearance within a reasonable amount of time after hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

Additional Information

• Remote role with requirement to report into the office periodically
• Required travel to Canonsburg, PA for approximately one month of training
