Job summary

Rather Outdoors, LLC. is seeking a skilled photographer to capture lifestyle images for brand marketing across multiple outdoor lines. You will plan shoots, scout locations, and manage lighting to achieve compelling visuals that align with our brands’ marketing strategy.

The role requires 5 years of photography experience, proficiency with DSLR/mirrorless gear, and the ability to travel up to 75% while maintaining a strong editing workflow using Photoshop and Lightroom.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in photography, Fine Arts, or related field preferred.
• 5 years of photography experience with a strong portfolio.
• Proficient with DSLR and/or mirrorless cameras and related equipment.
• Strong understanding of composition, lighting, and exposure.
• Willingness to travel up to 75% and work in outdoor environments.

Responsibilities

• Capture high‑quality lifestyle images to support Brand marketing content requirements.
• Utilize creative techniques to compose visually appealing shots.
• Plan and execute photo shoots including scouting locations to assess lighting, backgrounds, and accessibility.
• Edit and enhance photographs using image editing software, such as Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom.
• Ensure consistency in editing style across a series of photographs.
• Communicate effectively to provide updates on project progress.
• Collaborate with the Marketing & Design teams across multiple projects.
• Understand marketing initiatives, positioning and target audience for all Brands.

• Demonstrated creativity and artistic vision in photography portfolio.
• Ability to think creatively and problem‑solve to capture unique images.
• Ability to work in outdoor environments and traverse potentially challenging terrain with photography equipment.
• Ability to convey ideas and concepts effectively through photography.
• Willingness to adapt to changing shooting conditions and environments.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team, depending on the project requirements.
• Travel Required up to 75% of the time, schedule flexibility a must.
• Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Must possess interpersonal and facilitation skills.
• Strong Microsoft Office and Windows based computer applications skills.
• Fishing or Outdoor Industry experience preferred.
• Video production experience is a big plus.
• Experience shooting with an underwater housing is a strong plus.
