Job summary

The University of Illinois Extension is hiring a Visiting Extension Outreach Associate, Health and Community Wellness to plan, deliver, and evaluate educational programs that advance community health and food access.

The role requires a Master's in a related field, experience with community groups, and ability to work both independently and with teams; positions are hybrid with periodic travel to listed counties and some evenings/weekends; salary range $60,000–$80,000 with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in relevant field (degree required by hire date)
• Experience organizing and facilitating community groups
• Experience working with varied populations in a community setting

Responsibilities

• Deliver educational programs, trainings, and resources supporting program deliverables.
• Facilitate communications, meetings, and outreach strategies to organize groups to address food access and health.
• Provide resources and assistance for food benefit program applications.
• Participate in and facilitate technical assistance networks.
• Lead trainings and organize continuing education for community-based professionals.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure successful execution of deliverables.
• Evaluate impact of program initiatives and document changes in clientele practices.
