Job summary

Total Sand Services, LLC (TSS) is seeking a Field Operator to assemble, operate, and maintain wellsite sand equipment and execute frac sand delivery and inventory. You will coordinate mobilization, work with dispatch on schedules, and help ensure accurate load data while adhering to safety standards.

Ideal candidates have oil field experience, strong English communication, and the ability to troubleshoot motors and generators.

Qualifications

  • Oil field experience preferred.
  • Strong English communication, written and verbal.
  • Able to troubleshoot electric motors and generators.
  • Valid driver’s license with clean MVR in last 3 years.
  • Mechanically/technically inclined; comfortable with apps and devices.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate mobilization/demobilization of sand silos/equipment for efficiency.
  • Assemble, inspect, and troubleshoot field equipment; assist maintenance.
  • Work with dispatch on sand counts and schedules.
  • Manage sand inventory levels at the wellsite and track usage.
  • Direct off-loading of assets and third‑party trucks at job sites.
  • Assist drivers with ground guidance and hose connections.
  • Maintain safe work environment using PPE and site safety standards.
  • Communicate effectively to ensure accurate load data and records.

About the Role

Field Operator is responsible for the assembly, operation, and maintenance of wellsite sand equipment and the execution of frac sand delivery and inventory.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Coordinate the mobilization and demobilization of sand silos and equipment for maximum efficiency.
  • Assemble, inspect, and troubleshoot field equipment; assist with preventative and restorative maintenance.
  • Work closely with dispatch to inform of sand counts and schedules.
  • Collect freight tickets, bills of lading, and any other load data for verification and accuracy.
  • Manage high call volume and electronic communications throughout shift.
  • Coordinate and direct the off‑loading of company assets and third‑party trucks in and out of a well site.
  • Assist drivers on ground guiding trucks and with connecting/disconnecting hoses from equipment as needed.
  • Manage sand inventory levels on the wellsite; determine sand volume used per stage and total volume on location to ensure the well stays sanded.
  • Create and maintain a safe work environment by wearing PPE and following site safety standards.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Oil field experience preferred.
  • Strong and clear communication skills in English.
  • Basic understanding and troubleshooting of electric motors and generators.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean MVR for the last 3 years.
  • Mechanically and technically inclined; able to use smartphone and software programs.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
Physical Requirements
  • Able to work under stressful, outdoor conditions at times including wet and/or humid conditions and extreme heat/cold.
  • Physically capable of safely driving and operating a company vehicle.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, squat, kneel, and/or crouch while performing a hand task.
  • Ability to climb ladders, stairs and equipment.
  • Ability to pull, push, and lift 102 pounds.
  • Work environment may include moving mechanical parts, fumes, toxic chemicals, airborne particles and moderate to loud noise, requiring consistent use of appropriate PPE.
  • Able to work rotational schedule and long hours.

Summary

Schedule: 2 weeks on / 1 week off rotation, 12‑hour shifts

Exemption Status: Non‑exempt

Reports To: Field Supervisor
