Job summary

Summit Midstream Corporation is seeking a Field Operator to inspect, maintain and repair pipelines, compression and measurement facilities in the field. Responsibilities include on-call coverage, coordinating with landowners, emergency responders and other contractors, and ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

The role requires a HS diploma or technical training with 2–5+ years in pipelines, strong mechanical aptitude, and the ability to read drawings and operate tools and off-road

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent technical certification or equivalent training in mechanical environment or energy related field preferred.
• Good verbal and written communication skills with the ability to make decisions and work ethic.
• Ability to read and utilize drawings, schematics, alignment sheets and pigging knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain and repair pipelines, compression and measurement facilities.
• Respond to pipeline emergencies and coordinate with landowners, responders and contractors.
• Perform routine and major maintenance on engines, compressors, and associated equipment.
• Monitor regulatory requirements (OSHA, DOT, EPA) and complete required documentation.
• Maintain forms, records and reports related to field operations.

Education & Experience HS diploma or equivalent technical certification or equivalent training in mechanical environment or energy related field preferred2 to 5 or more years of general pipeline experience in the natural gas industry or related experience in similar industryKnowledge Skills & Abilities Knowledge and experience with line location equipment and techniquesExperience with hand tools as well as specialty toolsDemonstrate strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and repair all types of mechanical equipment as well as good verbalwritten communication skills decision making skills and a strong work ethicAbility to read and utilize drawings schematics alignment sheetsProven knowledge and understanding of procedures used to safely pig pipeline ie launching receiving and inspectionKnowledge of liquid handling equipment pigging facilities requiredKnowledge to conduct pressure surveys on gathering lines and central delivery pointsExperienced in monitoring natural gas quality using sampling equipmentExcellent verbal and written communication skills requiredMust have a valid driver license with acceptable driving recordDemonstrate the ability to operate off road vehicles safelyWilling to work at more than one specific stationOn call responsibility for areas as assigned
