Job summary

Acwa China is seeking a Field Operator, BOP to monitor control room data against on-site conditions and operate equipment accordingly, ensuring machine availability and durability in compliance with health, quality, and environmental standards. The role requires supervising plant installations, performing rounds for faults, coordinating with shifts, and ensuring safety and regulatory compliance on site.

Strong electrical/electro-mechanical expertise and at least 3 years in a power plant are

Qualifications

  • Diploma in Electrical Engineering is a must.
  • Diploma in electromechanical Engineering is a must.
  • Diploma in instrumentation and control engineering is a must.
  • Minimum 3 years in Power plant.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise all the installations of the plant.
  • Make rounds to check for faults, leaks and coordinate with the operator.
  • Inform the Shift supervisor if a problem cannot be solved immediately or if a malfunction affects production or availability.
  • Refresh checklists to ensure a smooth shift handover.
  • Ensure your own safety and the safety of others on site.
  • Perform equipment Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) as directed by shift supervisor or operator.
  • Oversee on-site labor and tasks required by operations such as drainage and inspections.
  • Supervise on-site work when interventions could impact production or availability.
  • Collaborate on success projects defined by the shift supervisor.
  • Support maintenance activities of the plant.
  • Follow management system procedures for products, materials and teams.
  • Report any anomaly or safety/environmental concern to superiors.
  • Wear PPE per OHS procedures.

Job Summary

Make rounds to confirm that the information displayed on the screens of the control room match those on site, vagile closely the operation of equipment and their behavior, make the necessary maneuvers required by the operation and therefore guarantee the availability and durability in machinery, in accordance with standards and legislation, health, quality and environment.

  • Supervise all the installations of the plant

  • Inform the Shift supervisor in case that it is impossible to solve a problem by itself or in the case of a malfunction, which affects the availability and or production

Educational
  • Diploma in Electrical Engineering is a must.

Preferred
  • Diploma in Electrical Engineering with Electrical safety.
Minimum Experience
  • 3 years in Power plant.
Required Skills
  • Generic awareness of Quality, Occupational Health & Safety and Environment Management system principles
  • Knowledge of identification, classification and disposal of waste
  • Knowledge of Emission Monitoring
  • Knowledge of environmental and health impact of chemicals being used in the plant
  • Knowledge of firefighting equipment
  • Knowledge of PPE and safety equipment
  • Knowledge of First aid measure
Desired certification / Job specific skill / Training
  • ISO9001, 14001, OHSAS 1801
  • awareness/working knowledge is preferred. Electrical safety.
  • Should be well conversed with Switch Board Operational activities. Interpersonal.
