Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Must possess or obtain a valid Georgia driver's license.
  • Forklift safety training required or obtainable.
  • GDOT flagging certification required or obtainable.
  • GSWCC Contractor Awareness Course – White Card required or obtainable.
  • Must obtain a state-certified water distribution operator's certification within one year of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain and repair the water distribution system.
  • Locate underground water lines and read meters using AMR/AMI equipment.
  • Respond to after-hours emergencies on a rotating schedule.
  • Inspect water infrastructure and maintain dam and reservoir components.
  • Coordinate planned interruptions of water service for construction projects.
