Job summary

Transco Rail Services is seeking a Field Operations Supervisor to lead site-level operations and build high-performing teams in a busy railcar repair environment in Bedford Park, IL. The role focuses on safety, quality, and continuous improvement while ensuring efficient production and accurate customer updates.

You will recruit and schedule staff, drive KPI performance, and partner with safety and quality audits.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Previous supervisory or leadership experience.
• Strong knowledge of safety practices and quality standards.
• Experience working with KPIs, reporting, and operational metrics.
• Ability to manage teams, schedules, and production priorities.

Responsibilities

• Lead site operations with a strong focus on safety, quality, and productivity.
• Conduct daily site walks to monitor work progress, identify risks, and ensure compliance.
• Drive performance against KPIs including turnaround time, cost efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
• Manage staffing through recruitment, scheduling, training, and workforce planning.
• Facilitate daily team huddles to align on safety and production goals.
• Ensure accurate and timely repair tracking, reporting, and customer updates.
• Monitor and report KPIs including productivity, turnaround, and cost metrics.
• Participate in and support safety and quality audits.
• Oversee billing accuracy and timely completion.
• Support employee development, onboarding, and training initiatives.
• Lead continuous improvement and visual management practices.
