Qualifications

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to read, speak, and comprehend English.
• Physically able to lift and maneuver 50 pounds.
• Willing to work outdoors in varied weather.
• Able to work independently and take initiative.
• Able to work long, irregular hours including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Learn field maintenance of Carilion Clinic Field.
• Assist in the preparation of Carilion Clinic Field for all home Salem RidgeYaks games, high school and/or college games, and other outside events throughout the season.
• Provide input and help execute a seasonal agronomic plan for Carilion Clinic Field.
• Assist in the implementation of aerification, topdressing, overseeding, verticutting, and other agronomic and cultural practices.
• Perform clay maintenance/management on mounds, home plate, infield skin, and warning track areas.
• Assist in irrigation repairs and system tuning.
• Learn tarp management during varying weather situations.
• Work with Front Office and StadiumOps team to learn how to assist in preparation for large scale outside events such as concerts, festivals, and corporate outings.
• Learn and perform various other duties from time to time as assigned by the Director, Field Operations.
