Job summary

TELTRON DESIGN GROUP in Columbus, OH is seeking a multi-skilled role covering field technician tasks, project management, and quality assurance leadership. You will manage assets, coordinate with suppliers, and gather client site details to guide design and deployment activities.

Responsibilities include preparing detailed design documentation, meeting deadlines with high quality, and participating in meetings and training as needed. Team collaboration and independent work are required.

Qualifications

  • 1-2 years demonstrated telecom industry experience.
  • Knowledge of WAN, PRI, VoIP, Broadband types and carrier services.
  • LAN installation and building out communication endpoints, rack interconnects.
  • Audio-Visual tech knowledge: site paging, signage, time clocks.
  • Experience with estimating and writing technical scope/costs.
  • MS Office, Excel, Smartsheet, and basic database skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform field technician tasks, project management, and QA lead.
  • Asset and inventory management (trucks, materials, warehouse).
  • Gather, analyze, and interpret client requirements and site details.
  • Work toward tight deadlines while maintaining high quality.
  • Prepare and submit detailed design documentation.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and external agencies to ensure best pricing for equipment/workforce.
  • Create and manage billing materials and arrange on-time pickups.
  • On-site/internal training and business development activities.
  • Participate in internal/external meetings as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Job description

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Field Technician level work, Project Management, and Quality Assurance Lead
  • Asset & Inventory Management (Trucks, Materials, Warehouse, etc.)
  • Gather, analyze, and interpret client requirements, specifications, and site details
  • Working towards demanding deadlines while maintaining the highest quality standards
  • Responsible for the preparation and submission of detailed design documentation
  • Awareness of technical and BISCI compliance in line with client and state, county and city ordinance requirements
  • Liaison with key suppliers and relevant external agencies, ensure best price for costing of equipment and workforce for all projects
  • Creation and management of billing materials and on-time product pickup and placement for customer projects
  • On-site/ Internal Training as needed/business development activities
  • Participate in Internal/ External Meetings as required
  • All other duties as assigned or requested by Management Team
Preferred Skills
  • 1-2 years demonstrated ability in telecommunications industry
  • Knowledge of WAN technologies, Carrier Services, Analog Lines, PRI, Managed Services. Broadband Types: Coaxial Fiber. Integration of Traditional Business Telephone Systems, VoIP systems, Paging.
  • Knowledge of LAN Installation. Communication Endpoints, Telecommunication Space Build-out, Rack Interconnect, Copper, Optical Fiber, Outside Plant, Surveillance Systems, Alarm Installation and Conduit Bending or Installing.
  • Knowledge of Audio-Visual Technologies to include but not limited to Site Paging, Sound Amplification, Time Clocks, and Digital Signage
  • Small to mid-size business awareness with estimating and technical scope writing experience. Cost Estimates.
  • IT literate with sound knowledge of MS office suite packages and Database management Software (Access, Excel, Smartsheet)
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Capable of working individually or within a team
