Job summary

Kiewit is offering an internship with the Southwest District in the field operations department based in Phoenix, AZ. The role supports construction management activities, with opportunities to participate in planning, safety, and on-site operations during the summer.

You will engage in interpreting drawings, taking quantities, preparing work plans, and assisting engineers on heavy civil transportation projects. Relocation and travel may be required as projects demand.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in civil engineering, construction management or related
• Willingness to travel and relocate as needed
• Strong work ethic and commitment to safety and quality

Responsibilities

• Assist in interpretation of drawings and specifications for field crews and supervision
• Perform quantity takeoffs and material takeoffs from drawings and specs
• Assist in preparing work plans, schedules, and safety documentation
• Support field surveying, elevations, control points, and as-built data
• Assist in cost tracking, daily timesheets, RFIs, and submittals (bid phase knowledge)
