Job summary

Gilder Search Group is seeking a Field Network Engineer to install, configure, and customize healthcare infrastructure systems after a hardware or software purchase. You will assess existing networks and support deployment across client sites, with a focus on reliability and security.

The role requires 3–5 years in IT and 1–3 years in network installation/configuration, travel up to 90%, and the ability to work across the US while residing in IL/WI/IA/MO. A valid driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of experience in IT
  • 1–3 years of experience in installing and configuring network equipment
  • Certifications: CompTIA Network+, CCNA, or CCWA
  • Bachelor's or associate degree or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrated experience communicating and remediating networking infrastructure
  • Demonstrated experience implementing disaster recovery procedures
  • Maintaining knowledge of security and networking best practices
  • Understanding of cybersecurity vulnerabilities
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Comfortable working in a healthcare setting

Responsibilities

  • Assess and remediate existing infrastructure to support installation of new solution; may install, validate, and connect on assigned equipment
  • Install, monitor, and customize clients' systems after initial hardware/software purchase; ensure a positive experience
  • Collaborate with Sales, Project Manager, Network Design, Digital services, customer IT and biomed to implement solutions
  • Consult with IT and biomed on installation requirements and cybersecurity concerns
  • Co-lead; maintain relationships with customers and sales for ongoing satisfaction
  • Maintain logs, service records, and technical project plans; post-warranty conversations with customers
  • Manage vendor service as needed
  • Mentor and coach local FE on installed solution; provide instruction on equipment operation and repairs
  • Support engineering of new product releases

Field Network Engineer
Job description:

The Field Network Engineer use their technical knowledge to install, configure, and customize healthcare infrastructure systems after an initial purchase of hardware or software.

  • To be considered for this role, candidates must reside within IL, WI, IA, MO,
  • Location of work may vary across the United States.
Travel Requirements

This is a 90% travel position.

  • Monday morning through Friday afternoon on the road
  • Home most weekends
  • Overnight hotel stays Monday–Thursday
  • Company vehicle provided
  • Hotels, airfare (when applicable), fuel, meals, and travel expenses are company paid
Responsibilities:
  • Assess and remediate existing infrastructure to support installation of new solution. May also perform installation, validation, and connectivity on assigned equipment.
  • Leverage technical knowledge to install, monitor, and customize clients' systems after an initial purchase of hardware or software. Ensure a client doesn't only buy a product but has a positive experience with it.
  • Collaborate and partner with Sales, Project Manager, Network Design and Digital services, customer IT and biomed to implement solutions sold.
  • Consulting with IT and biomed on customer requirements for installation and address cyber security concerns.
  • Function as co-lead; develop and maintain strong relationships and frequent communications with customers and sales to proactively identify customer needs, ensure resolution, proper follow-up, and ongoing customer satisfaction.
  • Responsible for prompt administrative responsibilities such as maintaining customer service logs and internal service records in a timely manner, technical project plans, technical walk thru and post warranty conversations with customer.
  • Manage vendor service as needed.
  • Mentoring and coaching local FE on installed solution. Providing instruction to personnel on equipment operation, diagnostics, effective use, and repair.
  • Supports engineering new product releases
Desired Qualifications:
  • 3-5 years of experience in IT
  • 1-3 years of experience in installing and configuring network equipment

  • Bachelors or associates degree or equivalent experience

  • Maintaining current knowledge and understanding of security and networking best practices to offer the best solutions and protection to company systems
  • Understanding of cyber security vulnerabilities
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Comfortability working in a healthcare setting
Special Physical Requirements:
  • Candidate must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 35 lbs. unassisted and frequently bend, stoop, twist, climb, crouch/squat, kneel/crawl, sit and stand for long periods of time.
  • Candidate must also be able to reach at, above and below shoulder level, flex/extend neck and have good hand and finger dexterity.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job may include color, close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.
Other Requirements:
  • Must have and maintain a valid Driver's License.
  • Willingness to be available "after hours", including weekends, for critical issues and coverage, as necessary.
  • Willingness to travel across the US, up to 90%
Pay: $65,000 - $75,000 Salary
