Position Title: Field Merchandising Specialist

FLSA Status: Hourly, Non-exempt

Primary Report: Store Operations Project Lead

Position Summary

The Field Merchandising Specialist will assist with the development and implementation of store projects and merchandising initiatives. This position reports to the Store Operations Project Lead and helps the Store Operations team ensure company initiatives, projects and deadlines are met.

Essential Functions
  • Conduct competitive price surveys as needed
  • Assist in maintaining authorized vendor product lists / coordinate with price book coordinator
  • Compile and assess sales data to assure vendor rebate compliance
  • Implement new products and promotional rollouts at store level to ensure initiatives are met
  • Assist in designing store specific planograms to achieve company goals, maximizing sales and margin, along with satisfying our customers' needs and wants
  • Maintain record of store and category planograms and update with changes
  • Conduct resets at store level; oversee and coordinate vendor conducted resets
  • Assist with new store and remodeling projects
  • Maintain vendor relationships to BellStores standards
  • Store equipment and supply ordering
  • Helps to manage inventory of store supplies and equipment
  • Prepare essential items to be delivered during new store openings, remodels, and other special projects

  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Demonstrate creative ability to evaluate merchandising and promotional programs
  • Excellent oral, listening and written communication skills
  • Strong organization skills are required to manage multiple priorities

Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred
  • 2 years of retail or merchandising experience preferred
  • Strong computer skills and knowledge using a variety of software including but not limited to MS Excel, MS Work, Outlook, etc.
Travel
  • Ability to travel daily to convenience store locations; some overnight travel dependent on new store openings or acquisitions. Reliable transportation is required.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to see, talk, and hear. There are periods of sitting at a desk and using a computer that may be prolonged based on project. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers to handle and feel, and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to bend, kneel, crouch, climb stairs, and reach overhead. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
