Job summary

Nabors Industries is seeking a Mechatronic Field Technician I to support installation, commissioning, inspection, and maintenance of Canrig drilling equipment at customer locations, including on-site and offshore settings.

The role requires foundational electromechanical skills, use of diagnostic tools, and strong safety practices, with a focus on timely service documentation and professional on-site support. Training will develop proficiency across Canrig product lines.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent is required.
Up to 2 years of field service or related technical experience welcomed.
Foundational ability to read electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical schematics and follow instructions.
Ability to use hand tools, measuring devices, and basic electronic test equipment.
Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to customer sites.
Ability to obtain safety, offshore, and equipment-specific certifications.
Ability to communicate job status and technical observations in English.
Ability to travel extensively to land and offshore locations.

Responsibilities

Assist with installation, start-up, function testing, and commissioning of Canrig equipment and subsystems.
Read schematics, drawings, service instructions, and specifications to verify connections and readiness.
Use hand tools and electronic test equipment safely to complete assembly, adjustment, inspection, and repair work.
Document commissioning results and equipment condition for review and handover.
