Job summary

A construction company in Iowa is looking for Heavy Equipment Field Mechanics to troubleshoot and repair various types of heavy equipment. You will work under various environmental conditions and must bring your own tools. A Class B CDL is preferred, and the company is willing to assist in obtaining it post-hire. Job description

The success Manatts, Inc., enjoys today in the construction industry started 75 years ago. Back then, it was one man, one truck, and now our team of employees numbers more than 750 strong. We have dozens of ready-mix and asphalt production facilities around the state of Iowa. Our massive fleet of dump and ready-mix trucks serves thousands of job sites every year. In addition, our concrete and asphalt paving divisions, along with our various other crews, complete hundreds of projects every season.

Our Brooklyn Truck Shop has immediate openings for Heavy Equipment Field Mechanics.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and perform repairs on all types of heavy equipment including but not limited to: pavers, excavators, bulldozers, skid loaders, etc.
• Knowledge and understanding of diesel engines, hydraulics, and pneumatic systems.
• The ability to work on equipment in the field under a variety of environmental conditions.
• Troubleshoot reported problems and resolve them in a timely manner.
• Perform thorough maintenance on machinery, equipment, and systems.
• Keep logs of work and report on issues.

Qualifications

• Qualified applicants must possess and be able to demonstrate working knowledge of major truck components, diesel engine diagnostics, hydraulic and electrical systems, and preventative maintenance
• Class B CDL preferred - willing to help obtain after hired
• Must have own tools
• Must have acceptable driving record
• Strong communication, analytical and basic computer skills required
• Ability to use manufacturer\'s computer software to diagnose and repair electronic systems necessary
