Job summary

ProPetro Services, Inc. is seeking a Field Mechanic to perform intermediate maintenance, diagnostics, and repair tasks on hydraulic fracturing machinery in the field.

The role emphasizes ownership, safety, quality, and continuous improvement with a strong focus on professionalism and reliability. Candidates should have 2+ years of mechanical experience, a technical degree or certificate preferred, a valid driver's license, and the ability to read and write in English.

Qualifications

• 2+ years mechanical experience.
• Prefer technical associate degree or certificate.
• HS diploma or equivalent is required.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Must know hydraulic fracturing equipment and pump/blender operations.
• Must read/write in English and communicate clearly.

Responsibilities

• Service and maintain hydraulic fracturing equipment pumps and pneumatic systems.
• Perform basic mechanic duties including filter changes and diagnostics.
• Install or replace parts and create work orders for repairs.
• Maintain maintenance records and accuracy of QC reports.
• Communicate failures to leads or supervisors immediately.
• Supply own tools for each shift and keep trailer/area clean.
• Drive company vehicle safely in all conditions and hours.

Job Summary

The Field Mechanic is responsible for performing intermediate-level maintenance, diagnostics, and repair tasks on a variety of machinery and equipment in the field. This position requires moderate experience, the ability to work independently, and a great attitude with a focus on professionalism and improvement.

Responsibilities

• Service, maintain, and ensure proper function of hydraulic fracturing equipment pumps and pneumatic systems
• Perform basic mechanic duties (i.e., filter changes, diagnostics, repairs, etc.)
• Install and/or replace new or reconditioned repair parts and create work orders for all discovery work and performed repairs
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities (i.e., order parts using Power Apps, generate QC daily reports, etc.)
• Immediately communicate failures to Field Mechanic Lead or Supervisor
• Supply own tools for each shift.
• Perform general housekeeping of parts trailer, service trucks, and work area
• Safely drive a company vehicle day or night, on all road types, and in all weather conditions
• Maintain compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies by attending all required HSE training sessions, safety meetings, and always utilize proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
• Follow HSE procedures on location (watch for high pressure lines, observation of red zone boundaries, perform lock out tag out, etc.)
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• 2 + years mechanical experience, required
• A Technical Associates degree or certificate is preferred
• High School diploma or equivalent, required
• Maintaining a current, valid driver’s license and a clean driving record, required
• Must know basic hydraulic fracturing equipment, pump and blender operations, and be able to identify key blender components
• Must be familiar with electronic instrumentation and automation equipment
• Clear communication skills, able to effectively interact with team members, leads, and supervisors
• Must be able to communicate, read, and write in English
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 applications, Power Apps, and able to quickly learn other work-related software
• Safety conscious, observant, and willing to use stop work authority when necessary
• Must be physically able to safely perform duties during a 12+ hour work shift that will include days, nights, holidays, and weekends
• Must be physically able to safely perform duties in all weather conditions including extreme heat or cold
• Must be physically able to remain alert and safe during exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, toxic chemicals, airborne particles, and moderate to loud noises
• Must be physically able to bend, stoop, kneel, twist, crawl, walk on uneven surfaces, and climb equipment ladders or stairs throughout the work shift
• Must be physically able to safely lift or move 50 lbs. without assistance
• Daily bonus for days worked, subject to change
• Housing provided depending on work site location proximity to office/yard
