Job summary

M. J. Electric, LLC in Michigan seeks a Field Mechanic to troubleshoot and repair wiring and heavy equipment used in electrical construction projects across the region.

You will diagnose engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems, perform maintenance, and travel extensively to job sites. A CDL is required and experience with welding is essential. We offer comprehensive benefits and career growth.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years experience diagnosing and repairing heavy equipment (wheeled and tracked) or trucks.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical and hydraulic schematics, maintenance manuals, service bulletins and diagrams.
• Strong welding (Stick/MIG) and fabrication skills.
• Must possess a valid class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) and knowledge of DOT regulations.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, inspect and repair diesel engines, gasoline engines, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, electrical systems, air conditioning systems, compressors, generators, suspensions, brakes, transmissions, fuel injection systems, ignition systems and air tools.
• Replace and repair damaged components.
• Perform engine flushing/cleaning, parts lubrication, oil changes and maintenance checks on all equipment.
• Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair all types of heavy equipment, trailers, aerial lift platforms, bulldozer, bucket trucks.
• Annual DOT and Crane Inspections.
• Perform vehicle preventative maintenance.
• Extensive travel required.

About this Role – Field Mechanic

We are looking for a talented Field Mechanic who has a passion for quality construction. This position is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing all types of wire pulling and stringing equipment, heavy equipment, trailers, and vehicles used for electrical construction projects throughout the region.

What You’ll Do

What You’ll Bring

• High School graduate.
