Job summary

Atlantic Constructors is seeking a dependable Material Handler to support on-site material movement and tool room duties on our projects. You will receive and check in materials, monitor consumables, assist with timekeeping, and help coordinate daily logistics to ensure trades are supplied and materials are organized.

Requirements include 1–2 years in construction, a valid driver's license, ability to operate a forklift, basic computer skills, and willingness to travel to multiple job sites;

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of experience in a construction environment or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Receive and check in material at the jobsite.
• Monitor consumables (nuts, bolts, washers, hangers, duct sealer, screws) and alert supervisor of shortages.
• Monitor and assist with daily timekeeping activities.
• Assist with material movement to trades personnel on site.
• Inventory control and tool room duties.
• ToolWatch and One Key software administration.
• Performs other job related duties as assigned.

Summary/Objective:

This position will be responsible for assisting with material movement on a job site and handling tool room duties on that project. The Material Handler will also help coordinate daily material and logistical activities on the jobsite, ensuring materials, tools, and consumables are organized, available, and properly distributed to ACI trades personnel.

Essential Functions:

• Receive and check in material at the jobsite.
• Monitor consumables at the jobsite (nuts, bolts, washers, hangers, duct sealer, screws), alert foreman/superintendent of upcoming shortages
• Monitor and assist with daily employee timekeeping activities, including overseeing and verifying that assigned personnel properly clock in and out
• Arrive approximately 30 minutes prior to the scheduled start time for the assigned crews and remain approximately 30 minutes after the scheduled end of the workday to assist with jobsite material, tool, and logistical needs
• Assist moving material to ACI trades personnel on the job site
• Responsible for inventory control
• Assist with various tool room duties
• ToolWatch software administration
• One Key software administration
• Performs other job related duties as assigned

Supervisory Responsibility:

Required:

• 1-2 years of experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience (preferably in a construction environment)
• Must be able to operate forklift and lull
• Must possess basic computer skills
• Must have a valid driver's license and good driving record to operate company or leased vehicle
• Must be able to multi-task, work with minimal supervision, follow written and oral instructions, show attention to detail and demonstrate problem-solving skills
• Must adhere to all company policy and procedures
• Must be available, and have the means to report to multiple job sites as assigned

The work environment and physical demands required would be representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job, and may include, but are not limited to the following:

Work Environment:

• May work in varying temperatures; both inside and outside, including inclement weather, heat, humidity, cold, and dampness
• May work in areas with exposure to moderate/high noise levels
• May be exposed to fumes or airborne particles including dust
• May be required to work in confined spaces or from high heights

Physical Demands:

• This role routinely uses construction equipment such as heavy machinery, hand and power tools
• While performing duties of the job the employee may work aloft, climb, bend, pull, reach overhead, stand/walk for long periods of time and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; and reach with hands and arms
• Must be able to correctly identify all colors of a color-coded cable/wires and see close vision, distance vision, depth perception, peripheral vision and ability to adjust focus

Travel:

• May require travel (typically not overnight)

Preferred:

• Bi-Lingual (Spanish)
• ToolWatch software experience
• One Key software experience
• Prior military experience
• HS diploma or GED equivalent
