Job summary

JBS Live Pork, LLC is seeking a Remote Field Manager in Southeast Iowa to work with contract producers, troubleshoot issues, and provide production improvement solutions. The role reports to the Live Pork Production Manager and requires extensive travel to farms across the region.

You will collaborate with the Business Manager on decisions influencing profitability, manage relationships, and help with contract renewals.

Qualifications

• Relocation to Southeast Iowa required; reside within driving distance or relocate.
• Associate degree in Agriculture with 3 years swine experience, or 5 years leadership with live swine.
• Proficient in MS Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
• 80%+ travel, including overnight travel.
• Demonstrates motivation, leadership and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and organizational capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Support contract producers in troubleshooting and improving production.
• Manage producer relationships and assist in contract renewals.
• Conduct farm visits, meetings and information sharing to maximize production.
• Assist in budgeting, cost control, and operational improvements.
• Document on-farm reports and coordinate with the Production Manager.

Job Title: JBS Live Pork Remote Service Person/Field Manager I

Reporting to: Production Manager, Jacob Schulte

Job Status: Salaried

Position: Remote

Department/Location of Position: Southeast Iowa.

Applicants should reside in the Southeast Iowa (within driving distance of farms) or be willing to relocate.

Summary of Position

JBS Live Pork, LLChas an opportunity available for aRemoteField Managerin the Southeast Iowa reporting to Jacob Schulte, Live Pork Production Manager. This position will work directly with a designated group of contract pork producers to assist them in trouble shooting problemareas and provide solutions for improving production.Will also help manage customer relationships as well as provide documentation of on farm reports.

You will work with your Business Manager to arrive at solutions and make decisions that will impact your area and your business unit profitability.Through farm visits, producer meetings and information sharing, you will aid the producers in finding the most successful ways of maximizing production on their farm. A field manager manages 20-25 producer sites consisting of 50-100,000 pig spaces. In addition, the field manager helps manage the producer relationship and assist in contract renewals. Approximately 5-10 million dollars of pig inventory is a typical field manager's area.

• 40% - Pork Producer Training
• 20% - Auditing Facility and Environmental compliance and work to help producer meet compliance by offering solutions
• 20% - Assist producers in Property Marketing's Animals
• 80%-day travel required, occasional overnight travel.
• Coaching, training, and developing new farm managers
• Animal Welfare and environmental compliance by offering solutions
• Medication/vet ordering
• Bio-Security compliance and action planning
• Assists in controlling costs associated with feed, supplies, and labor
• Maintains accurate number integrity for record keeping
• Coordinates and oversees completion of special projects
• Makes recommendations for operational improvements
• Any other duties assigned by the Production Manager

Required Qualifications:

• Relocation to the Southeast Iowa Region
• Associate degree in Agriculture, related field, and 3 years of swine experience,

OR,

• in lieu of a associate’s degree in agriculture, 5 years’ experience in a leadership position working with live swine.
• Computerknowledge in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
• 80%-day travel required, occasional overnight travel.
• Ability to motivate and inspire people to achieve high goals

• Demonstrates knowledge of overall business strategy and operations
• Possesses proficiency in spreadsheet, database, word processing software
• Demonstrates written and verbal communication skills
• Exceptional organizational and communication skills
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to bend, push, pull, twist, and lift approximately 60+lbs
• Maintained vehicle 6 years or newer for frequent weekly travel to facilities

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous swine field manager experience

Working Conditions:

• Must be able to work safely in a physically demanding, live production environment including the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, walk through pens of animals, etc.
• Must be able to work in a variety of working conditions including but not limited to heat during summer months and cold in winter months.
• Must be able to work in an environment in which you will be exposed to odors, dusts and gasses that may be uncomfortable or hazardous if proper procedures are not followed
