Job summary

PPL Electric Utilities Corp. in Allentown, PA seeks a Construction Supervisor who leads a diverse crew tasked with managing contracted transmission, distribution and substation work.

You ensure safety, compliance and alignment with SOX and company policies while coordinating with safety and contract management teams. You will oversee project lifecycle from pre-design to commissioning, onboard new contractors, and implement performance metrics.

• Consults with the PPL EU Contract Management Group in: Developing long-term and short-term construction contracting strategies.
• Developing performance standards for Construction Management.
• Acting as the primary interface with contractors on performance metrics and, ensures contractors develop regularly supply performance indicators.
• Managing the field change order process to ensure contract change requests are well documented and adhere to SOX.

Overview

Leads the group responsible for managing all contracted transmission, distribution and substation physical work in PPL EU (includes capital projects, the asset optimization strategy program, and maintenance activities) to the scope, terms, and conditions specified in each contract. Coordinates construction requirements and activities throughout the project life cycle including pre-design, design, procurement, contracting, construction, and postconstruction/commissioning. Ensures that contractors adhere to the standards and specifications in PPL EU safety, work, and environmental policies/procedures. Responsible for coordinating with corporate and government agencies for environmental planning, safety planning, and work/outage planning. Ensures contract work scope matches invoicing and verifies validity of contract change orders, as necessary. Manages all full-time PPL construction supervisors as well as any needed contracted support.
