Job summary

Casey’s is hiring a Field Maintenance Technician to service HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, electrical, and fuel systems across 12–15 stores in the New Prague and Faribault area.

You will diagnose problems, repair and install equipment, and complete service documentation after each call. The role offers a daily travel schedule with a company vehicle, bonus eligibility, and competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; EPA certification preferred or ability to obtain within 180 days.
• Experience with HVAC, electrical, plumbing, refrigeration systems a strong plus.
• Ability to read blueprints and interpret instructions; communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose equipment problems and determine repair or replacement.
• Repair and maintain electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, and fuel systems in stores.
• Test performance and replace defective components as needed.
• Install electrical equipment and repair wiring, fixtures, and bulbs.

As a Field Maintenance Technician, you'll work in a designated set of stores completing service and maintenance on HVAC and refrigeration units, kitchen equipment, plumbing, electrical and fuel systems, and general building maintenance. Territory includes 12-15 stores in the New Prague and Faribault, MN areas. If you don't currently live in the area mentioned, relocation assistance may be provided.

Compensation:

Starting hiring range: $25.50 - $33.50. Actual pay may vary based on Casey’s assessment of the candidate's knowledge, skills, abilities (KSAs), related experience, education, and qualifications. Other factors impacting pay include local prevailing wages and internal equity. This position is eligible for an annual cash bonus based on company performance. Our full salary range for this role does extend beyond the typical hiring range listed, allowing team members the opportunity to continue to grow within the company.

What you'll do:

• Diagnose equipment problems, using judgement to determine how to repair or replace.
• Repair and maintain equipment and building electrical wiring, plumbing, refrigeration, and fuel devices.
• Use instruments to test and evaluate performance of equipment; repair or replace defective valves, thermostats, and other parts.
• Install electrical equipment, and repair or replace wiring, fixtures, and bulbs.
• Complete service documentation on what was installed, replaced, or repaired after each call. Reports must be accurately completed and submitted upon completion of job.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands & Environmental Conditions

• Must be able to frequently (46-100% of the workday):
  • Use eyesight to complete tasks
  • Lifting up to 10 pounds
  • Use repetitive motions while working, this may include repetitive motions with the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
  • Operate machinery (company vehicle, various power and hand tools)

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge of tools and equipment used in building and mechanical trades.
• Prior experience with installing and repairing electrical systems, plumbing, and refrigeration equipment and parts.
• HVAC certification preferred.
• EPA Type 1 and 2 or Universal Certification required or ability to obtain within 180 days of hire date.
• Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to interpret blueprints, sketches, and verbal and written instruction.
• Must have the ability to respond and adjust to changing or new situations.
• Work well in high stress environments and maintain professionalism.
• Must have excellent guest services skills.
• Work is primarily performed in a store setting.
• Travel with overnight stays required 20% to 40% of the time.
• Valid driver's license and physical ability to drive vehicle for job related travel.
