Job summary

Apache Corporation is seeking a Lease Operator I to oversee daily gauging, reporting, and operation of wells and leases while upholding safety and environmental standards.

The role requires a high school diploma and at least 1 year of relevant experience, with a willingness to learn engineering principles and subsurface/surface equipment operations. Strong mechanical aptitude and safe driving history are essential.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• 1+ years of relevant oil and gas experience preferred.
• Must have a general knowledge of safe oil and gas production operations.
• Ability to perform simple mathematical calculations and maintain good safety and driving records.

Responsibilities

• Gauge production on assigned wells and report readings, downtime, and other well information to district office.
• Perform lease maintenance and minor repairs on surface pumps and production equipment; handle cleanup tasks as needed.
• Note problems and recommend corrective actions to supervisor to reduce costs and increase production.
• Assist in witness meter calibrations; monitor rates/pressures on injection and disposal wells; adjust as needed; monitor chemical use; test safety systems daily.
• Assist with downhole pump changes, tubing replacement, and pump/compressor maintenance.
• Ensure operations are secure and environmentally safe; perform tasks unique to the geographic area as directed.
