Job summary

OpenAI is seeking an on-site senior leader to deliver civil, structural, landscape interfaces and architectural fit-out for facilities. You will lead and supervise contractors, manage field execution, and coordinate with engineers and delivery partners to ensure safety, quality and schedule adherence.

You will own discipline execution on site, drive critical activities, and collaborate with project teams to resolve issues and maintain safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Typically 8–10 years of civil, structural or architectural construction experience, including data center or complex industrial site delivery.
• Ability to read and coordinate civil, structural and architectural drawings, specifications and surveys.
• Experience translating approved designs into field packages and coordinating changes with engineers.
• Experience reviewing RFIs and field changes, and verifying changes in the field.
• Knowledge of inspection and acceptance evidence for civil works and building envelope.
• Ability to coordinate with permitting/environmental authorities and ensure safety.
• Demonstrated field leadership and managing contractor performance.
• Strong written and verbal communication to document field activities and risks.
• Relevant trade or degree-based preparation or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Direct and coordinate general contractors, civil and structural trades, architectural contractors and specialists against the design and schedule.
• Oversee earthworks, foundations, concrete, structural steel, building envelope and landscape interfaces.
• Review constructability, work sequencing, RFIs, submittals and changes; obtain decisions from engineers.
• Coordinate building interfaces with mechanical, electrical and network teams; protect access and installation readiness.
• Inspect work with quality teams, track nonconformances and punch lists; verify turnover readiness.
• Set contractor deliverables and priorities; manage staffing, progress and quality.
• Provide progress and risk reporting; manage field impacts of changes and handoffs with OpenAI teams.
